Week 31 – 080309: We’re B-a-a-a-a-ck!

BOT:

Aloha Kakahiaka UFOhana!

The Away Team from Planet Hawai’i has returned to Base Camp. We’re glad to be back, well maybe just a little sad that we left. But it’ll be nice to be back with the UFOhana and Jamming once again.

We hope you’ve all stayed out of ‘trouble’ while we were gone and that you’ll be able to make it to this Friday’s Kanikapila. Many stories to tell and videos to share of the trip and music in Hawai’i.

Btw, this week’s Food Theme will be: “Foods for the Heart”. I figure we’ve been bad enough in Hawaii, after all.

Here are some more stuffs from our trip:

This one’s of the view from my Sister-In-Law’s office. Where I pulled network cables through one summer.

This collage shows a State authorized tag / tribute to MJ. Lucas with Pua’s (blind) Uncle and the new Uke we just bought him, Gecko in our front yard showing off his waddle and Del playing with his (Macadamia) Nuts.

Here’s a Video of Uncle playing his Ukulele.

Below is Lucas’ amazing Shrinking Tenor Kala Uke! Plus some shots at Aiea Bowl Grill (A Super Ono Place for ‘Gourmet’ Local Fusion Food) where we took Grandpa.

Grandpa’s doing fine, btw, and sends his Aloha Out to the Ohana.

Some sad news for the UFOhana. Cookie’s Dad, known as ‘Uncle Bobby’ passed away last week.

Uncle Bobby, below, was with the UFOhana in the early years and was loved dearly by all. Kind, loving and always generous with the KauKau, he set the tone for the UFOhana years to follow. Unfortunately, his failing health prevented him from visiting the us in the years to follow. I really wish you all could have met him.

We will miss you Uncle Bobby!

Our Aloha go out to you where ever you are. Please be sure to come visit some time!
