Week 35 – 083109: Hapa Haole Solo Night
BOT:
Aloha Ahi Ahi UFOhana! Speaking of Ahi Ahi, was last Friday what they call a Hot August Night? Not only was weather hot but so was all the great R&B Solos! Mahalo Nui to all who contributed those great tunes and also for the Great KauKau.
E Komo Mai Hale! (Welcome Home) to Uncle Ken, Carey and Donley! Mahalo,
Carey, for sharing your new Uke and to Donley for sharing your wonderful Meles with us!
As you all may have guess by now, this week’s Solo Theme is Hapa Haole Solo Night! Should be a breeze for most of you out there right? You know who you are. Except that I’d like to suggest that you sing something NOT in our Flight Manual. Hah! You knew there was a catch right?
As for this week’s food theme: “JBF – Just Bring (Healthy?) Food”. You know, Da’Kine Kaukau. Again, Mahalo for going light on the desserts. it’s really helping with the glucose count.
What a turn out last week huh? Just look at all these Pilots In Flying Formation!
Check out Brudda Carey’s new Baritone! Yet another Custom Camacho Instrument!
of course Uncle got Model 1 B-Tone . .
and then we have our Solo Pilots . . . Rick the Rippa, Maggie the Wailer, Sandy the . . .
and in this corner we have the Society of 8 Stringers . . . Lovely Linda . . . KimoB Cruising . . . Debbie belting one out.
So, I know this is going to look kind of weird, but Palapala had this great idea for a little puzzle/game: “Name Those Feets!” So here they are . . .
Uke-Ku
—————
Hot waves of rhythms,
Pulsing heavy beats in time,
Song of R&B.
and please remember to send us your IRs (Incoming Rations)!
Aloha A Hui Hou,

Gerry, my husband, passed away peacefully in his sleep today on Friday, September 4, at 2:45 a.m. During his last days he was surrounded by the love and presence of his family and friends. We thank our family and friends for their continued prayers and support.
I believe we will have his wake on Friday, September 11 and the funeral on Saturday, September 12. We are waiting to hear from his sister if she will be able to make it for these dates. So, I will be unable to attend the kanikapila. I was looking forward to it!
Mahalo nui,
Lydia
