Week 36 – 090709: Paniolo/Paniola Solo Night
BOT:
Aloha Ahi Ahi UFOhana!
Woa! What a great Hapa Haole Night that was last Friday! Such Great Kaukau, Mele, Hula and Aloha going around that night. The Kanikapila was killers! Kihoalu Bruddas in the House, Hula Sistas Hula-ing, it’s just to much to comprehend sometimes . . .
Mahalo Nui Loa to all that made that night such a special night for us. Mahalo also for the delicious Birthday Cakes. What an added bonus that was huh? Mahalo again to the Kitchen Menehunes that do such a great job of clean up every Friday night. You know who you are, as do we. Makes getting up Saturday such a treat.
So, solo theme for this night is Paniolo-la Night. So dust off your finest Palaka Prints, or Roy Rodgers long sleeve with the Pearl Button Snaps, your Stetsons and the best Hawaiian/Haole Paniolo/Cowboy song you got. But please, leave your horses at home . . .
I’m thinking the food theme should be along the same line but simpler this time around. Let’s call it “Free Range” foods as in “Home, Home and (de)ranged”. Anyway, you get the idea. Be sure to post your Incoming Rations on the Blog now!
Brudda Carey, Amy, Barbara, and Patty. Mahalo Nui for doing the Photo Recon last Friday. These are just ‘some’ of the photos from last week:
Aki’s Pot Roast, Patty’s 1st Class Mai Tai, Ono Birthday Cakes . . . need we say more?
And then there was the Hula! The Hawaiians sure had their idea of celebrationing down. Mahalo Aunty Napua for treating us to your wonderful dances. I’ve never Seen Sweet Leilani done to Hula. That was a real treat!
Uncle doing his thing, the wall of strummers, Max hanging with Uncle KimoB, but wait . . . is that Sharon with Chicken Adobe!!!!!!
And then there were the New Ukuleles:
Lucas’ and Kimo’s ‘Twin Kalas of Different Vendors’. S/N 906 and 907 respectively.
Amy’s Custom cKc Baritone Ukulele from Brudda Carey. Check out Sharon’s Pimped out Gecko and Honu Uke.
Of course there are the UFOhana Ukulele Pilots . . . Heyyyyyy, isn't this month also Desert Bob's Birthday?????
Shhhhh! No tell Pua about me eating Spam Musubi now! Keone, “So What color plate did they call?” The Birthday Peoples. Joe wailing out Happy Birthday . . .
Then there were the Solos, both Song and Hula! Mahalo Kukana for the great Hula!
KimoB, “No, really, I was a 90lb strummling till I took the Camacho Pa’ani Course!”
Keone, “Have you seen my glasses?”
Palapala, “Awwwww . . . Del you’re crazy!”
Brudda Bu, “Nice Yah?”
Max, “Hold me Uncle KimoB.”
Aunty amongst the Sea of Ukulele Cases.
Kawaika, aka Prince of Pupuli. Red Legs and Catfish on the stage. Brudda Sandy doing the Bass thing.
More Solos . . .
Aunty Napua, “Honey, it’s in F! Eh, you heard me?”
Brudda Carey Pa’anis away while Our man of steel slides one . . . woa, hang on there!
Donley going high . . .
Les Tres Amigos!
D&D, hanging. C&L, Nani. P&B Babing. KQ smiling. D&K with Da Kala Twins.
Guess whose feet!
Kala Twin Powers Activiate! Kq belting one. The Solo Flights List.
Camacho Inc.
Whoooweee! That was a lot of ‘1000 Words’! And to think it wasn’t all of them. Mahalo again to the Photo Recon group for the great memories.

Wow, great pictures, Del. Not sure what we're bringing but it'll be free range for sure. Still trying to figure out a song.

Aren't they? Sure is nice having Multiple Photo Recon Pilots to collect these. May I should buy a bunch of Cheap Digital Cams and spread them around the room for people to use? Geez, I'm starting to sound like a Wedding planner! Plus, having Carey's Bling-Bling Camera sure helped capture the experience!
So, Free Range Da'Kine and Da'kine Mele it is!
Aloha,

Short notice on the song but the beans are in the pot. I'll try and pull off what some have said is the "perfect County & Western song" made popular by my namesake.
